Viral Swipe File for developers and AI agents

Viral Swipe File can be read by software three ways. All of them are read-only and describe the same library of viral Instagram Reels and TikToks.

When to use Viral Swipe File

Use it when a task needs real examples of short-form videos that went viral: hooks that worked in a niche, which formats outperform, a creator's best videos, or inspiration for a script. Do not use it for live trends from this week, for analytics on your own account, or to download or repost other people's videos.

1. Markdown pages (no account)

Send Accept: text/markdown to any page URL (the home page, niches, a niche, a format, a creator or a video page) and the same page comes back as markdown at the same URL. A client that accepts neither markdown nor HTML gets 406. The same renditions are at /md/{path} for clients that cannot set headers. The sitemap index lists the home, niche, format and editorial pages, the creators with at least 5 videos, and a curated set of video pages: of the videos with a viral factor of 3 or more, at least 100,000 views, a real hook and a cover, the top 4,000 by viral factor, at most 5 per creator and 500 per niche. Every other video page still works but is marked noindex.

2. JSON API (any account)

A read-only API for niches, formats and videos. It needs a signed-in account, free included: an OAuth access token (the one MCP clients get; no API key) or a session cookie. Every account gets paging, search, sorting and every filter. Connecting an AI agent is free on every plan, hooks and captions included, and any account can use the JSON API. Free: 50 questions a day (MCP tool calls and API requests together), counted from midnight UTC. Starter and Growth: no daily cap on agent questions; JSON API requests (bulk pulls) are 10,000 requests a month on Starter and 50,000 requests on Growth, counted from the 1st of each month (UTC). Limit: 30 requests a minute per account. See the API reference and its OpenAPI 3.1 description.

3. MCP server (any account)

The full library, searchable and paginated, plus your team's saved videos, from Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Hermes or any MCP client. Server URL: https://viralswipefile.com/api/mcp (streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, no API key; the same token works for the JSON API).
